A Simpleton's Attempt at Remix Culture
Remix Culture, perhaps a strange topic. Though it doesn't sully the work of others, it does seem to lend itself toward parody or perhaps other more derivative works. But lending toward mere copies is not the core of remix culture. In our current society, a fresh concept is initially hard to come by, seeing as the majority of concepts that a single human being can come up with have been explored to large extents. Through the concept of Remix Culture do we find the gateway to countless and seemingly infinite ideas. By building off of the work of another and splicing together different concepts one can invoke new meaning. This in itself displays one of the true strengths of Remix Culture.I thought that I'd try my hand at it, and now I'm left with an extensive amount of fun concepts, though I'd describe the effort was placed more onto quantity rather than quality.
Ominous Throne
My first mashed up object, being a hand and the only sitting model I could find on Thingiverse.
The hand was initially making the "okay" gesture, so I mirrored it onto itself and placed an ominous figure onto the now throne-like structure to make it the opposite of "okay".
The two models used can be found here below.

An Extension of Oneself
I always thought it was a bit strange how for a large amount of people smartphones have become extensions of themselves. The usefulness of the device has reached a point where it has become hard for many people to live without it. Now smartphones can be seen as an extension of oneself.
Bird of Prey
The owl is often regarded as a symbol for wisdom, but it almost seems as if people have forgotten that the owl is a bird of prey. So Perhaps a tiger head can help show off its ferocity.
Fancy or Not?
People tend to regard the mustache and monocle combo as something that is fancy. Is it still fancy on a pirate?

When Snails Fly
I always wondered if snails would be faster with wings. Would they buzz around slowly? Or maybe they'd be super fast, but they wouldn't be able to have have a speedy lift off because snails are slow on the ground.
Copy Nature
Nature has always been a huge inspiration when it comes to design. I'm sure that planes had a stage in which bird-like wings were used.
Coward Faking
When someone is a coward they are often called a "chicken". What if the chicken were to put on a brave face?
Playful Lion
This is a lion with a cat for a head. Lions may be seen as strong ferocious creatures, but they are still cats.

The Kitchen is a Battle
One time at a busy restaurant I saw through the kitchen doors. The chefs were all working hard and had expressions of deep concentration, almost as if they were on some sort of battlefield.

Pets are Above Us
To be completely honest, I don't entirely recall my thought process during the time of making this one. I can imagine it as an homage to Lion King, though it may also be a man holding up a cat in reference to how well domestic animals are treated, almost to the point in which they are idols.

Forkatana
I always wondered if forks would make good weapons, but it seems that may not be the case because the closest mainstream depiction of a fork being used as a weapon is an angry mob with pitch forks.
Scared of the Stage
Whenever I'd have to stand in front of a large group of people, I'd imagine myself holding a shield. Kinda like a defense against peoples stares. I wonder if any stage performers also imagine some form of protection.
